Let me start by saying that I own a top notch cleaning company and have tried many mops over the years and this is by far the best I have ever had! I have been using the O'Ceder mop and bucket for my aromatherapy cleaning business for over 5 years. I have passed two in 5 years. I say that to all negative reviews. "BEFORE FIRST USE THE MOP HEAD MUST BE WASHED." They are made of microfiber and like all "microfibers" have a natural oil base which makes them uncomfortable to the touch at first. This can cause them to smear, smudge, "tip over" (or stick to rough surfaces like stone or other rough tile, etc.) and essentially, unless washed first, they won't work very well. I use this mop and bucket and all my customers bought them to have because they love the results when I'm done cleaning their house. I am very sensitive to stains on the floor and in my business it is important to "never leave a film". And I hate going back and wiping the stains off my hands and knees! Also let me add that I clean upscale vans with super shiny marble floors and never had a problem as I've seen in some of these reviews. Here are some tips and tricks I've learned over the years that will help you avoid some of the mentioned. HOW TO USE THIS MOP FOR MAXIMUM RESULTS: 1. Vacuum floor thoroughly. (Probably the most important step people save on) How dirty is your floor after vacuuming? You might want to buy an industrial mop for dirty cleaning. Although I have washed some very bad floors with this mop and it has never let me down! Always wash new mop heads before first use and after general cleaning.3. Always use HOT water when cleaning floors. The hotter the water, the better results you will get. Think "STEAM STERILIZE”4. Spray the floor with cleaner, then wipe down with a HOT, damp microfiber O'Ceder mop.5. Make sure you turn off all available water! (Press the pedal at least 3-5 times). This helps ensure smooth movement across the floor and also prevents water from entering cracks that can cause mold. You will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your O'Ceder mop as much as I do!
