Review on Stant 14798 Thermostat Housing Fahrenheit by Bryan Gilliam

Made my car overheat 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue 3.5L

My Installation Experience on a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue: Do Not Buy I first bought this universal thermostat (see my review on it). The thermostat did NOT come with a replacement heater hose (as pictured), it was very different from the original (and correct replacement). It seemed to work perfectly until I drove it to work and it caused my car to overheat to 130 degrees C (boiling - measured with OBD II adapter and Android app) while driving (yes I vented properly) . I went back to Revain to get a loan to buy the right one (AC Delco version). This version of the ACDelco is definitely worth the extra $5-$10, especially since it comes with a replacement heater hose and new heater clamps. This thermostat regulates 180 degrees Fahrenheit, the correct thermostat is stamped 97 degrees Celsius (very different). While this thermostat won't overheat your car (like I've experienced), if your car doesn't reach the correct temperature (97 degrees C, 206.6 F), you're reducing your fuel efficiency. My original Delco A/C lasted almost 200,000 miles (failed due to a ruptured o-ring which resulted in the car never reaching full temperature). I received CEL P0128 (Coolant temperature below thermostat threshold). Replacing the AC Delco thermostat got rid of my check engine light. I have already driven 100 miles, the temperature has never exceeded 100 degrees C. Find my review on replacing the original Delco AC thermostat. Revain Prime's return service for this product was excellent and quick. There was no product. The replacement AC from Delco arrived 2 days after requesting a return and my return of this product was handed over to courier on the same visit.
