I was surprised how stable this very small tripod is. At least with smaller cameras like the Sony HX90v or Nikon AW 130. You should be careful with "bridge camerasโ like the RX10 or smaller SLR cameras. It will handle heavier cameras as long as they are fairly straight with no long lenses. By holding the camera with one hand and the tripod on a stable surface, you can keep it stable. I only use the ball head for smaller chambers. I also use it to safely back up the FX Radar Chronograph. If you're walking around with a camp staff that has a camera screw, this might be an unnecessary piece of equipment. However, it is perfect for storing standard flashes, microphones and other accessories. Slick appears to make quality gear at a reasonable price for the average photographer, but pros might even find this little tripod handy. Should be a perfect match for the Sony RX100 series or similar cameras. If he had a fanny pack, that would be very handy. The good thing is that the leg extensions are tight. Some of the tiny tripods rely on friction to keep them in place. Not the best idea in my humble opinion. Need a small tripod? Try it.
