The sturdiest little tripod I have.

I was surprised how stable this very small tripod is. At least with smaller cameras like the Sony HX90v or Nikon AW 130. You should be careful with "bridge cameras” like the RX10 or smaller SLR cameras. It will handle heavier cameras as long as they are fairly straight with no long lenses. By holding the camera with one hand and the tripod on a stable surface, you can keep it stable. I only use the ball head for smaller chambers. Very light and stable, ideal for small cameras and spotting scopes.

Very short and very small. Keep in mind that this is by no means a heavyweight. It's very light and can do so much. Don't expect to put a heavy SLR rig on it and let it do what you're supposed to do. There's no quick-release mount, convertible spiked legs, convertible B-pillar, etc. Because that's not what it's made for. In any case, it has an efficient pan/tilt head and the rod control is light and fast. The B-pillar lock and leg locks are plastic and don't feel strong, but they work great and

Great part, does what it's supposed to.

I just got a new DSLR so I bought accessories for it too. This was one of the items I chose. I used to have mini tripods and they were all fine, but in the past I've only had to deal with cameras like Point & Shoot which obviously have a lower profile and lighter weight. When I saw this one (and a few others) I was mesmerized by his style. There's no question that a lens-mounted DSLR is heavy and can (relatively) be front-loaded. I really didn't think any of the typical mini lenses would work…
