Review on πŸ’„ Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Beauty Sponge Makeup Blender, Single unit by Elizabeth Morales

A great competitor in the makeup sponge arena!

I love my Real Techniques sponge. I have this, a Beauty Blender, a Sigma Kabuki brush and a full set of brushes. I love my Sigma brushes, I love my beauty blender, but I always use the Real Techniques sponge. As other reviewers and makeup connoisseurs have pointed out, this is a great copy for the Beauty Blender. They are both incredibly soft and resilient. I've noticed that the Beautyblender is slightly less stiff, smaller in size and expands more when wet relative to its original size. I think this is because the Beautyblender's design has more air pockets, which allows for better water absorption. This may be why some people feel that the Real Techniques sponge uses a little more product. After using both products multiple times with the same products, I didn't notice any difference in the quality of my finished makeup and didn't see much of a difference in the amount of product used. I don't think the difference between a beauty blender and an RT sponge justifies such a huge price difference. In terms of quality, I find the RT sponge a bargain for the price. I use Sponge RT more often than brushes because it's really easy to use. I can use one tool to apply foundation, concealer, cream blush and even set my eye makeup with powder. If, like me, you're a fan of the snooze button and need to simplify your makeup routine, this is a great option. I use it more often than my beauty blender simply because it's cheaper. When my nails are longer I reach for them because I'm not so afraid of piercing or tearing them. It's also my travel sponge because it doesn't matter if I lose it. I don't feel "bad" using it because it's very affordable. I bought this in May 2016 and a few months later it still looks and feels great.
