Never stays on-: Cycling

We have never been able to get this to stay on for more than a few minutes. Apparently something was wrong with the switch, which is why it shut itself off. Cosmetically, the silver paint on the front of the lamp will wear off after a few days. We finally settled on the Bontrager Flare RT bike tail light, which has a longer run time (20 hours on a single charge), is bright, light, and has a fantastic mount. It costs about $20 more initially, but at least it works. I have a 25 year old Cateye flashlight that uses a CR123 battery and works great in the rain, snow or sun and the annual cost of the battery is trivial. Not sure if these rechargeable flashlights are what you need.
