Review on ACDelco Professional 45K0187 Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arm Assembly: Premium Quality and Precision Engineering for Optimal Suspension Control by William Hunter

Alignment issues fixed!

My left rear wheel hit a curb resulting in a positive camber of 2.2 degrees, 3.7 degrees more than the right rear wheel. The tuner said the upper arm was probably bent, but other items could be present. I figured the best thing would be to buy this adjustable bar and install it yourself. I placed a jack under the coil spring mount and raised the wheel so it could be removed. I then used a cheap magnetic dial indicator and attached it to the surface of the drum brake to get a camber reading of 3 degrees (positive camber). I removed the old upper arm slightly but didn't notice any obvious bend. I installed a new adjustable arm of the same length and attached it by hand. Then, while watching the protractor, I slowly tightened the adjustment hex to shorten the stem and pull the top of the wheel in. I pushed the limit and the angle dial showed 0 degrees. I reasoned that this would result in about minus 1 degree of camber, which is close to the right rear wheel and within the normal range of -0.3 to -2.5 degrees. I then tightened the lock nut and clamp bolt on the arm and tightened the mounting bolts. The left rear wheel now looks the same as the right and hopefully the tire wear is normal.
