I had an Intermatic watch that worked for 15 years but the gasket was missing (replaced with silicone) and the box was rusted. The clock worked fine. I bought a new one a year ago but only installed it 2-3 years ago and yes I kept it at home. The box is already rusting (take a plastic box if local regulations allow) but the clock motor has burned out. I have a whole house surge protector. I removed the Mexican made motor and replaced it with this very cheap Mexican made motor. I was able to screw the existing screw into the new hole myself as the threaded holes didn't line up. The old watch motor's contact insulator couldn't keep going without bending the solder joints and I knew they would break and I would have to get a soldering iron etc. So I wrapped the solder joints with tape 33. Works so far, but for how long? Intermatic: Manufacturing cheap goods in another country is false frugality because they don't last long.
