I bought this to use in a homemade VOC air purifier. I bought this brand because it was half the price of other activated charcoal pellets. I thought it was a bit of a risk because they were designed for in-water use. I used a $200 VOC detector to monitor the results. I tried a few different designs to try and get a VOC response. In short, it's not. Nothing at all. I'm pretty sure the air was moving past the balloons with the design. Worse still, there was very fine dust in and around the pellets. Any movement of the bags scatters a powder that looks like black dust everywhere. He only sent my particle sensor with an AQI of 30 to 140.2 stars because it was never claimed to work that way (although it should have).
