I recently discovered these round hay nets and bought one for my two old horses. Some reviews seemed questionable claiming they weren't worth the price and fell apart easily etc. I've had mine in a metal round bale feeder in the pasture for a week now and I just LOVE it! My horses didn't break it, the bale remained intact and undamaged, didn't step in the mud and didn't deteriorate. One of my horses has a mild form of bloat, so don't let him eat dusty, moldy hay or stick his whole head in the middle of a bale. With a quality bale, it worked perfectly for him! They are quite difficult to install and require a tractor or similar to lift the bale off the ground, which is best done with two people. You should also check it every few days to tighten if the horses are eating the pad.
