We had a small tray in the turtle house and it really took up a lot of space and my little slider turtle had trouble getting into it. It's made for them and they love it. It doesn't hold as much water now but that's a good thing as turtles can get very dirty and it really needs to be cleaned on a daily basis. They can both easily climb the ramp and get to the water, they both love it and it's small enough to slide into a corner but big enough for our big turtle Alex to cuddle up when she wants to. i really like it
