This device is a workhorse

I do a lot of video editing and I have it installed on my studio system. So I have this device on the left, the keyboard in the middle, and the Magic Trackpad on the right. The device comes with software and once you download it the device is pretty much ready to use. It comes preloaded with templates for many applications. For example, when I'm in the iTunes app (I'm on an Apple/Mac), the device performs things like volume control, changing tracks, and other standard iTunes functions. If you switch to another app, the device changes to help you manage it. If you don't have a template for your app or just want to change what controls it in the app, don't worry. You simply open the software and select the template you want to change. If you don't see your application in the templates provided, the program allows you to add it. I doubt there is an application that cannot control this device. Another great feature is that you can have more than one template per application. For example, when I'm editing a video, sometimes I want the buttons to work when scanning video and creating markers. Other times I want the keys to do hard cuts and post-processing. So I made some templates for my video editing software (Adobe Premiere) and used what I need. when i need it Fabulous. Humming on this device cuts my post-processing time by about 20 percent. If I need a week (5 working days) for my project, then that is one of five days. This is my second module. The first drank coffee and died. So, as good as this little time saver is, just keep in mind that it's not waterproof :-)

Pros

Cons
  • Sad gear
