These are well made and finished boards. They're thick enough to be handled easily without excessive bending, but not so thick that they protrude from a cellphone's thin body. Brest results in most holders, such as in the area of car dashboards, are holders with multiple internal rare earth magnets instead of a single ferrite magnet. Weaker ferrite base mounts will slip off when the phone case thickness is 1mm or more. 2 mm and nothing works! I originally received round platters that were 1.88" in diameter, NOT 1.57" as stated in the specs. And ironically, I SPECIALLY ordered them to get the smaller round sizes! If you're looking for big plates then you're definitely looking for a fantastic treat! (The rectangles were actually 2.75" x 2.00".) VOLPORT contacted me and generously agreed to send me a slightly smaller version of these well made mounting plates! That's fantastic customer service. It's good that they come in multiple size ranges, as some phones are getting bigger and others (like the iPhone X) are getting smaller. This smaller size reflects the old description and is perfect for my application. 3M tape is very flat with virtually no thickness. Additional double sided tapes are included in the kit to allow the panels to be reused. Transparent protective tapes are included, also extremely thin, but extremely tear-resistant. You can use these to a) protect your phone's finish from strong adhesives, or b) cover the Volport drive when it's in a detachable phone case of your choice to protect the back of your phone from potential scratches.
