Review on Brooklyn Knife Co. Paring Knife - Seigaiha Series: Etched High Carbon Steel, 3.5-Inch Blade by Jennifer Garrard

Home Run at a glance

First of all, the packaging of the product is very beautiful. The box is solid and the knife comes in a foam pad rather than being packed and mailed in a postal envelope. The only thing I think the company could add is a taped pull tab as the box looks like the inside will pop out but the top actually pops up on one side but since the box fits so snugly it isn't easy to open. and the interior is inserted in a way that really looks like it's meant to slide out. Second, the look of the knife. This is a very nice knife with a perfectly weighted black handle with two white inlays at the top of the handle and a pattern on the blade itself. It feels good in the hand, unlike the lightweight paring knife you can buy in the store. I have a paring knife that I bought at a kitchen store, but the Brooklyn is even better. And finally, most importantly, the edge of the knife. The knife is sharp and the first time I used it on celery, carrots and onions the knife cut like butter. My husband bought it for me and I am very glad he passed away. Maybe he'll have to look at the chef's knife next time!
