Don't push it all the way in - pull back a little to connect it to the hose properly
it worked great. I was careful not to push/insert it too far into the mount - misalignment could result. I pull it back a millimeter or two and it connects perfectly to the hose. indeed - Miele should design it to be a click away so it's in the perfect position, no guesswork.
