My wife and I recently bought new bikes for everyday weekend use. Having just dropped a lot of money on bikes, I was looking for a cheap mounting option. I have a pickup, I saw them and decided I could put something together that was relatively inexpensive. I was right. The price was right for this particular product. If you look at other items, you will see that there are more expensive versions. I can't imagine what they could offer in comparison to justify the price. They're easy to use, have lots of mounting options (use your imagination) and are lockable for when you need extra security. I see no reason to pay more unless you want the Thule or Yakima logos to look cool. As far as I can tell, you can install them however you like, including right on your bed. I didn't want to do this so I looked on google and saw what some other people had done for a removable solution. I combined a few ideas and used a couple of 2x6s to create an easy, cheap, and detachable option. I was very surprised and pleased to see how solid the bikes ride when clamped. They didn't seem to move an inch. I have no cons to list for this product. I haven't had them that long, so the only thing I can't confirm is the weather resistance. I don't plan on leaving mine when not in use, so this shouldn't be a factor for me. So, all in all, if you are looking for a cheap, durable, and versatile truck mount option, just buy this one and save some money.
