Works great on our Trek mountain and hybrid bikes. Installed them on 2x8 in the back of my F-150. I installed 4 brackets in the bed of the truck, 2 in the front of the truck and 2 in the back. I think two screw holes isn't enough to hold it securely, so I added a few extra screws with washers around the edge of the bracket. They keep bikes very safe. Simple, Reliable, Inexpensive, Adaptable. Note the holes are drilled for 1/4" mounts (Thule standard); one round, one oval. Mine drilled up to 5/16" for Yakima rod clamps. A socket and box spanner will then fit the nut into the oval hole (the new hole is quite far from the vertical side), but the nut over the drilled round hole will require an open end wrench due to the narrower gap. The hitch does what it was designed to do. It looked flimsy at first and I thought my fork would slip out, but the fork is quite snug. In my setup, I mounted the hitch on a 2x6 board that I put in the back of a truck. That way I can rent a 2x6 and use a full bed without anything sticking out. The fork clamp appears to be of high quality and while others have worried about re-opening it once closed, I haven't had any issues with it.
