I live in the Pacific Northwest near the Canadian border and it's getting windy and cold. When I first used them in my minivan the temperature dropped into the teens and the wind gusts went into the 40s! I noticed that some reviews said they were blown away by a light wind, so I took great care to tighten them really well and secure the strings well in the doorway. I went out the next morning and not only were they safe and covered in ice, but the mirrors were ice free! I am very satisfied and will buy another set for my Kia.
