Let me start with the biggest benefit for me – I'm not a morning person, and just pressing a few buttons makes it worthwhile for me to get Starbucks like coffee at home. Below are a few things I noticed that might be helpful when considering a machine: BEFORE YOU BUY - make sure you buy the model with an automatic milk frother. It works great and is worth the extra money. The idea of the car is to be fully automatic, so not having that defeats my purpose. The car is very noisy. This isn't for early risers who have a kitchen next to their bedroom and a family that sleeps lightly. I have a newborn and it sounds like "white noise" to her but be aware the machine is LOUD. The machine SHOULD NOT be used with whole coffee unless you want to, but for me that was one of the reasons we bought it. Be sure to look for whole grains and check the roast date - the closer to the purchase date, the better the taste will be. If not, like everything else - longer shelf life, better for you - machine can't hold tall coffee cups - automatic frother - don't just pour out unused milk, you can just take it out of the machine and put it in the fridge for next time use! POSITIVE - Since I mentioned Starbucks above, go for the syrups - IT WILL TASTE LIKE STARBUCKS. I have mine from Revain and they are a great addition to the set and a definite hit when one arrives. Since we're talking about Starbucks, the money you pay for a car should pay off if you're a big coffee. Drinker/customer - if you don't do it for social reasons, don't go buy coffee but cook it at home, you pay for about 130 coffees you cook, the car - if you like me, that's about a few months ( If you're trying to convince yourself it's a worthwhile purchase, hope it helps! It really helped me!) - Did I mention it gives great results? - Looks professional and is really well made with no blemishes. It's plastic but well made. It's easy to clean, it tells you when the base is full of water (due to its self-cleaning) and when to dispose of used coffee, which is great - you don't have to clean it after every use. the volume mentioned above is the only one I found. Also, I wish this car had a morning timer. At the same time, the machine is cleaned before the first coffee to maximize freshness, so I think this oversight is forgivable.
