I ordered this to replace the damper that was in my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 as my dealer replaced the tie rod with a newer one that was also used in the 2008 2500 Rams . This will not work with a 2005 factory steering system. Coincidentally, I also ordered a replacement Skyjacker 7013 HD OEM shock at the same time. I pulled this and the Skyjacker out of the boxes and hand stretched and shrunk each to compare. The Skyjacker required less effort to compress and fold, so I installed the Monroe thinking it would be better for the street.
