Review on 🚿 Enhanced Chrome DELTA U1072-PK 0.5" Diverter Tub Spout by Michael Floyd

Missing measurement

The product appears to be of decent quality. My only complaint is that this and almost all other descriptions of similar products are missing an important parameter: the length of the pipe sticking out of the wall, which is suitable for a proper installation. In my case I had 4 inches by Β½ inch pipe. I couldn't find a description of a suitable tube length, but I did find a description for the spout listed as 9.25 inches. The eyeball method found the divertor came loose about halfway up, so I figured that would work. As it turns out, 9.25 inches isn't the length of the spout, but rather, believe it or not, the plastic/cardboard packaging it comes in. This seems an absurdly inappropriate way to describe a product. I used the spout anyway, but now I have about an inch gap between the end of the spout and the wall. The solution is to heat the end fitting on the pipe that is silver soldered to the pipe, cut the pipe an inch, and then re-solder the fitting with silver. That's what I would like to know in the first place, and it seems like the obvious information the manufacturer should have provided. And just to be clear, I haven't been able to find any outlets that accept 4" pipes even after hindsight, so I'm going to leave this one. If you have about 3 inches of pipe sticking out of your wall, this unit will likely fit just fine.
