A high-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

Bought this lens a week ago. I use it on a full frame D700. Bought for the soul. Shooting with this bundle is a great pleasure, light and sometimes not attracting unnecessary attention. The sharpness is amazing. In RAW, all matrix pixels are clearly drawn. Color rendition is excellent. I have something to compare with - I have 24-70 f / 2.8. I will say the following about slow autofocus: "This is a fixed lens, not a reportage lens, focusing speed is not as important here as its accuracy." They write a lot about HA, but in my opinion they are insignificant, or the D700 corrects them better than other cameras. At aperture 1.4, you can shoot if you can. On a full frame, you can use it as a "staff", and on a crop as a "portrait", and for non-motorized cameras there is no alternative. Blurring is largely determined by the design of the diaphragm. In this case, the rounded 9-bladed diaphragm produces beautiful bokeh. If possible, take this "mast have" lens.

Pros
  • Aperture. Amazing sharpness at apertures from 2.8 to 8, and acceptable at all others. Adequate cost (a similar lens from Sigma is more expensive). The presence of a motor. Boke.
Cons
  • Relatively slow autofocus. Minor HA under certain shooting conditions. AND EVERYTHING!
