Review on Modway Veer Office Chair Black Furniture in Home Office Furniture by Mike Steeg

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Beautiful optical design, but not nearly as comfortable as I had hoped

The chair has a visually appealing design. I bought red and it was definitely red but not bright. The swingarms are very good and work well. The disadvantages are the seating comfort. The seat itself is lightly padded. I could feel the bottom of the cushion touching the wood as I sat in the chair, and I weigh about 175 pounds, which is a far cry from the chair's 250-pound weight limit. The curve of the backrest below is too sharp. I had to think carefully about where and how I was going to sit, otherwise the back of the chair would put a lot of pressure on my lower back and it would be very uncomfortable. I had to lean forward at the foot of the chair to avoid putting too much pressure on my back. Eventually I realized that I couldn't just automatically USE the chair. I had to think about how I would sit each time and usually change position several times to find a position that wasn't uncomfortable. I just wanted a comfortable chair to sit in while working on the computer. I didn't want to think about how I would sit and how I would stand every time. I wanted to return the chair but the box was thrown away. The overall design and key features of the chair are good for the price. My suggestion to the manufacturer would be to make the curve in the lumbar area smoother, with a little more "giving", making the back more comfortable and giving it a bigger "sweet spot" in the lower spine.

Pros
  • understandable for the old
Cons
  • Some little things
