Short run time otherwise great kit

Locked up for a few days during quarantine this was a good way to keep busy. It took me 2 or 3 days to finish, although I could probably do it in a day if I get stuck. So here's my breakdown: Cons: - Short runtime. A fully wound watch only seems to want to run for a few hours before it stops. I twisted it as far as I dared and even ripped off the ratchet. Luckily there is a spare ratchet in the kit and now I know it doesn't twist. That keeps me from giving 5 stars. - A little tricky at first to execute it. At first I couldn't get it to work at all, then just a few minutes, and finally after a little fiddling it worked for several hours. It seems that the more I run it, the more it wears out and lasts a little longer each time. Can't complain too much; I had never collected a watch before and expected less than what I received. The instructions are mostly pictures, which is good, but the FAQ and troubleshooting section is written in poorly translated English. So if you encounter any problems, please be kind. on his own. However, in the instructions you will find links to videos with a QR code that will help you with this. Pros: - Nice watch. I am impressed by its aesthetic design. Since I suspect concentric shafts are out of the question for these sets, the hour and minute hands are on separate shafts and positioned to look really nice, and there is nice engraving on the watch's "dial". . It also takes up quite a bit of shelf or shelf space.- Well designed kit, very well made and fairly easy to assemble. Difficult enough to be a bit of a challenge but if you take your time and follow the instructions it all works out fine. - Pretty much, at least he's had a pretty good time in all the years I've seen him work. - A great way to learn how a real clock works. All of the gears are visible in the open air, as is the pendulum escapement that governs them, and after assembling them and observing their workings up close, it becomes clear what a great invention the old-fashioned clock was many centuries ago. The bottom line is that this is a fun kit and I'd love to make it again or give one away, but then again, if I can't figure out how to get it working for at least a day and a half, I don't see how. can be used for daily timekeeping. Maybe someone knows how to modify it with a more durable power source.
