The laptop I use this hub with only has two USB ports built in, which is not enough when participating in remote mentoring for the local FIRST Tech Challenge team. The addition of this hub has greatly improved my workflow, as things like an external microphone and webcam can be plugged in all the time and then toggled on and off as needed. The hub itself looks well built. The metal body adds a bit more weight than the same type of plastic body, which is a good thing (for me). The hub remains stable when others might tip over to their side due to the tension of the cables. Indicators showing which ports are active are well placed and clearly show active data, reducing the risk of accidentally disconnecting the device in use. Overall I'm very happy with this hub and will definitely consider buying others to use elsewhere. However, it might not be the best choice if you work in a place where outlets are limited.
