When I first started using this monitor I tried multiple connections to connect to my Macbook Pro:1. Lightning Bolt elgato Hub -> Displayport output with Displayport-to-DVI->DVI-to-HDMI2 adapter. Lightning Dongle with HDMI -> Including HDMI3 cable. elgato Lightning Hub -> DisplayPort cable. Option 1 was very unreliable when the connection dropped, and I also saw twinkling stars (single pixels flashing white randomly) in the image when it worked. Option 2 was more reliable but I still saw stars. It wasn't until I bought a new Displayport cable and used it with the Elgato hub that I got the expected picture quality with no clipping and no stars. So if you're having trouble with the stars, try a better connection between your computer and monitor. Otherwise, the monitor makes a great impression.
