I ordered this to make a physical connection between two strings of lights above my patio and also to prevent rain from getting into the electrical connection. It seems to hold the fork securely enough in the mate. It is partially regulated. I think light rains will be contained but heavy rain will likely find its way into the grounds over time. The product can be improved by using silicone rubber where the wires run through the device and silicone grommets where the parts of the device are close together. (The device has two hinged parts, one snapping onto the other, creating multiple leakage opportunities). If your application requires effective waterproofing, it may be better to choose another option. Otherwise, it seems like a cost-effective choice. Kind regards.
