My mother is 80 years old and has dementia. The remote control that came with her TV has ALL the buttons that a human would have for programming and adjustment PLUS all the on/off buttons etc. 35 different buttons so she can remember which one does what, and 30 of them are not needed for everyday channel. Surfing. It has 6 big buttons and they light up when pressed. The next time I walked in she was so excited you thought I bought her a new car. It took less than 5 minutes (didn't count but probably only 2 or 3) to program their TV and if I read the instructions right the first time it would probably take 30 seconds. This remote control only has the buttons you need for everyday use.
