Accidentally bought two of these. I'm glad I did. The first thing I got out of the box was DOA (Dead on Arrival). That's why I started a comeback. Installed the second device and everything worked. some. The hour meter worked perfectly, as did the backlight. However, it loses three stars because the speedometer function does not work properly. First, the counter can be configured for different engine types. It all depends on the correct grounding of the contact. I am installing this on a Briggs & Stratton 4 stroke single cylinder engine. Connected pins for 4-stroke single cylinder configuration. When the engine starts and the RPM is low, the gauge will show high RPM. As I increase the throttle, the RPMs displayed decrease. So I re-read the instructions and they say that some 4-stroke single cylinder engines need to be configured differently, so I wired them that way and it didn't give the best result. I will probably return these too. I only give this product two stars because the hour meter works properly and looks good.
