Review on πŸ”§ Improved Parts Master 92131 Power Steering Pressure Hose by Lucas Rowe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Inexpensive replacement with good original quality

I am a Hyundai/Kia Master Technician installing this part on a '99 Honda Odyssey. At first glance, the hose looks well made and has a good price-performance ratio. There are a few differences to note when placing next to an OE hose. OE is much more reliable as it is reinforced to prevent sagging. I have provided a picture of the tubing which I removed and cut for ease of installation. It has an internal spring that runs through a rubber tube to increase stiffness. This hose is very flexible and the OD is smaller which leads me to believe it may lack strength and durability but only time will tell. The OE line pipes also appear to be heavier and plastic-coated. The manufacturer claims that the cord is made of coated aluminum, so this isn't a big issue. Otherwise the hose/line seems to be well made and installed without any problems. You can currently pick up the OE line here at Revain for $137 if you want to pay someone to install it and have peace of mind. But for $50 you can buy almost 3 for the price of 1 OE. A few installation tips: Remove both front tires and disconnect the stabilizer bar at the links, cut the damaged sling for easier removal, you should have good access to the sling mount on the luggage rack after removing the tire, thread the sling through the passenger Side first with the tether/attachment, if the stabilizer is loose you should be able to twist it sideways to put a tether through it, if you want the original bushings for the retainers cut them in half with a razor blade and slide them over the line, when you are ready to secure the line in place, finally pull the portion of the tubing back towards the pump.

Pros
