I bought a used V6 AWD Highlander LE for a great price but it didn't have the XM radio and I expected it in my cars (since the late 1990's). That's how I found this option that integrates with the factory radio. It mimics a USB stick so changing channels and such is a bit clunky (minus 1 star) but if you're like me and already have a bunch of favorite stations then it's not a huge inconvenience and certainly better than no XM at all . . Installation may give you a few chills, but I found a YouTube video that was extremely helpful. Search for "Toyota Highlander 2014-2019 Android CarPlay 10.2' Stereo by GTA Car Kits". The first part of the video has a great guide on how to take out the radio. It was easy and took about 10 minutes but without the video I would have been frustrated and probably broken something. Tip: I used my phone in the car to follow every step. After turning off the radio, the device is directly connected to the factory wiring. It's a mess of wires, but no stripping or soldering required. And factory-coded connectors prevent you from making a wrong connection - there's only one way to do it. The hardest part was installing the antenna and stretching the cable from the antenna to the radio. Serious. This part took about 30-45 minutes. I placed the antenna just above the reading hatch in the center of the roof. The cable was long enough to connect to the radio. I recommend that you watch the video linked above before purchasing this device so you know what you are getting into.
