A steering tape is a very personal thing. It depends on whether you like to wear gloves or ride barehanded, how you hold the bars, what roads you ride etc. All I can say is that these tapes are every bit as good as the bar tapes that cost twice as much and the tactile feel is accurate the way I like my handlebar tape. The adhesive on the back of the tape works well and allows you to give it a try or two without leaving too much residue. Taping the handlebars is a skilled job and will definitely affect the "performance" of the tape, if any. Poorly packaged work can peel, and that's definitely not the tape manufacturer's fault.
