Review on πŸ”ͺ Fiskars Precision 12-Inch Rotary Bypass Trimmer by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Still sharp like new after more than a year!

I used to have a Fiskar Surecut and I hate the fact that the titanium blade won't even cut copy paper straight after multiple uses. After much research I decided to spend more money to get this paper cutter. I was glad I spent more than my original budget. I've used this trimmer frequently (at least once a week) to cut cardboard, carbon paper, cardboard, cereal boxes and even magnetic sheet and the spinning knife is still as sharp as it was over a year ago. This trimmer is big when it's unfolded, but that's what I like about it. This gives more surface area to cut 12x12 cardstock and will not cause head problems. My previous Fiskar SureCut had an extended ruler, but the ruler abuts the main body when unfolded. As a result, I can never get a perpendicular cut. It's always quirky, which isn't great for my scrapbooking or postcard projects. My frustrations with this paper cutter: - Lack of scale from 5.5 to 6 inches due to the folding mechanism. Sometimes when I needed to make an intersection between these missing scales I used the subtraction method. If I need 5 3/4 inches and my paper is 11 inches long, I cut at the 5 1/4 mark instead of 5 3/4. I also put invisible tape on the 6" box mark that I needed to cut the 12" cardboard in half. The orange leg wasn't strong. Flaking after a year of use Despite the shortcomings, I highly recommend this paper cutter. That'
