Review on 8Bitdo Wireless Gamepad CoreGrafx TurboGrafx 16 Nintendo Nintendo Switch by Marcus Braunstein

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Too small, bad D-Pad

Picture from top to bottom: Hori TG Mini Controller, Original Turbo Grafx 16 Controller packed in Turbo Mini Controller, 8Bitdo Wireless Controller I still have my original TurboGrafx- 16 and been playing it for over 25 years - I have a very good idea of what a controller should look like. This wireless option is very, very small, which is its first major downside. The turbo sliders of the original controllers are missing. which I could live with if the D-Pad wasn't so awful. Diagonals are useless and sometimes pressing down will move your character to the right, for example. I was able to get through Ys Books I and II with it, but it's useless for any action-packed games with minis. However, packaging control suffers from the same problems, although not to the same extent. I'll try the wired Hori panel and see how it works. Games like Blazing Lazers or Super Star Soldier will not work with this controller. Small size aside, the d-pad's calibration (which can't be adjusted) is unforgivable.
