, I bought this thermometer to use on my Thanksgiving turkey and it was a great choice. It is very accurate and reads the temperature quickly. My son and I thought it would be fun to see if he could get the right temperature in the house so we went room to room and he did. It's long so you can easily and safely check the temperature without removing the food from the oven. The hold button is also useful. I also like that it turns off automatically because I often forget. I highly recommend this thermometer!
