I recently received an i7-8700 which I didn't know if it worked or not so I didn't want to spend money buying a motherboard for it but I did neither do I need anything that would be super slimmed down if it worked. Luckily, the Asrocks Pro4 line always seems to help, whether I'm building a Ryzen or an Intel system. This is my first personal modern Intel system and I won't lie, there are far more motherboard chipsets to explore than Team Red right now. This board features the b365 chipset, which gives you a offers better memory bandwidth. You get up to 20 PCIe lanes, giving you speed with your GPU + m.2 storage and a surplus of USB ports. which I like because of my many peripherals and some other things that are not so important. Type-C connector, 2x m.2 slots (this is an upgrade from my x370 board which only had 1 NVME slot and the other was SATA only), 3x case fan headers and 2x CPU fan headers, the Wifi card slot was a nice bonus. Now I have Bluetooth built in for less than $100. Things I missed, an extra USB 2.0 header for an extension cable which I would have liked, DDR4 slots are limited to 2666MHz which was an oversight I live with and for some reason the bottom one supports m .2 slot with both SATA and NVMe protocols, it couldn't show my 860 evo while the top slot was occupied by an NVMe drive, but it worked with WD Blue when it was alone. Didn't want to waste time troubleshooting so I had a different nvme and they both worked at the same time, but I was annoyed that it didn't work right away (and I had a SATA connection). he was bound to the unoccupied). All in all, this board is suitable for operating an Intel-based system with many useful features. The BIOS is very user-friendly and easy to use, even offering QR codes to explain things you might not know. Despite the RAM speed cap and lack of overclocking features (which my CPU can't even do), it's a pretty full-featured board.
