This reel will last a long time as I don't collect batteries very often. It's a nickel, at least the role I got. I've tested several pieces in various acidic liquids and in salt water and just in vinegar. I scratched each sample fairly deeply and then let it sit for 4 weeks and there was only slight discoloration on a few samples in the harsher acids. In general a good product.
