Review on Dewalt DCB118 Fast Charger For 12V-20V Max Lithium-Ion Batteries - Compatible With DCB205 DCB206 DCB203BT DCB204BT DCB127 - Replaces DCB101 DCB102 DCB112 DCB115 Charger by Duane Rogers

I read through most of the negative reviews before I purchased this charger so I knew what to potentially expect with possible issues related to "intermittent" or "no" charging. When I received my charger, sure enough I had to play around with the battery to get it to make a connection to start the charging process. In fact, I had to actually hold the battery firmly in the charger to get it to charge and once I released the battery, charging would stop.To remedy the situation, I took a pair of offset (90 degree) needle nose pliers and put an ever-so-slight twist in each of the pins on the charger electrical connections as I suspect that the pins on the charger are a bit thin to make a good electrical connection with the mating battery connectors (NOTE: make sure you unplug the charger from the electrical outlet first as a safety precaution). Once I did the above, I could actually feel the battery make a good connection with the charger when I placed the battery into the charger.You can probably use a straight nosed pair of needle nose pliers to make the slight twist on each of the chargers connectors but the offset pair gave me a better angle and control to keep from over twisting. I uploaded a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure so you can see the slight twist placed on the pins.If this charger holds up after making my modification, this was a great deal for a quick charger putting out 4.5 amps. I will come back and update this review after I've had it in service for a period of time.Lastly, I gave the charger a "3 star" rating due to the issue mentioned and also because I want to give a bit of time to see how this charger holds up over the long haul.I hope others find this helpful (and maybe the seller/manufacturer will fix the issue and cut me check for something their QA folks should have identified and fixed) ;-)
