This is one of the few holders of this type that does not use a motor to grip the phone. It seems needlessly complicated when a design like this works so well. Simply place your phone in the stand and it automatically adjusts to hold your phone. It loads well too. I did not use the vent clip but removed it and used the ball mount adapter to mount the device to the Arkon gooseneck.
