You get what you pay for (probably a bit more)

So, I'll make it short and sweet (sort of). I bought a 50" 5D series curved lightbar for $129. As you see in all the auxbeam bar videos the box went through hell but the stem itself somehow came out unscathed. At first glance, the panel looks great (for a $129 lightbar). Some things that immediately bothered me were the lack of connectors on the light side of the wiring. The harness was with protected female blades, but the lantern itself had only stripped and tinned wires. never mind A pair of spades and everything converges. If you look closely at any of the pictures, there are a couple of missing connectors. These were not in the package. The reason this bothers me is that the description somehow implies it's "plug and play". Even before I turned it on, I noticed that the reflectors were aligned. The lenses themselves are not crystal clear either. The pattern of the beam is a bit wonky. The attached image was taken from 10 feet away and the strip is perfectly flat. The light is bright but not what I expected from a 50" light bar, 288W, 28880lm. (I know the numbers are rubbish, but I really expected more). Only after turning it on for a minute or two did I notice that the wiring from the relay to the light felt very warm. If you turn it on from room temperature for a minute, you can feel it warming up. For a 288W @ 12V lamp that draws 24 amps, you will need at least 12 ga (.081) wire. I was (a little) surprised to find 14 ga (.064). I couldn't put up with anything else either I spent, but the wiring really bothers me. Give it 3 stars because I bought it hoping for the best, expecting the worst. I will update this review periodically with night time photos and infrared photos of the wiring.
