Review on Boost Imagination and Learning with PicassoTiles PT180 Construction Set by Dan West

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Too many squares have numbers and letters - not clear from the product description

Unlike the 100 piece PicassoTiles set, which contains many simple squares, most of this set are decorated with numbers and letters (eg , B, C, 1, 2, 3). I wish it had been said in the description. The tiles themselves are beautiful and I like the extra shaped tiles but the alphabet and numbers seem like something toddlers might like but they seem childish for kids over 3 or 4 (why would a kid who can count to 100 , need a huge 3) . on your tile creation page? It's technically cute to have all the designs, but I know my son will struggle with that (he takes his buildings and garages he builds with tiles very seriously - he's 4 - and I suspect he won't like that tiles aren't just squares - and I'm assuming older kids wouldn't like that either.) Again, my problem isn't that the letters and numbers are there, but that it wasn't clear to me from the item descriptions , or I would order a 100 piece set which we also have, it's nice and easy. The extra "window" shapes are cool, but I didn't like the patterns on the squares and wouldn't have bought this set if I knew.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different
