Great item, wish I had bought it years ago. It's light, well built. and is good value for money. The T-Square line is 36 inches long, which is perfect. I've used the T-Square about 20 times since I bought it and 36 inches is enough but not too long. The 36 inches along the ruler is large and easy to spot, with IMPERIAL or inches on either side. I don't really need the METRIC system on one side. The top section is about 8" and has 3" on each side of the T. I think you may need a larger T section if using for construction or larger sizes. Work, but for me 3 inches is good enough.
