Review on 🟠 LEAGY VICTOR VC60B+ Megohm Meter: Digital Insulation Resistance Tester DC250/500/1000V AC750V - Orange/Black by Udders Sharma

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Does what it should, has a few quirks

The good thing: it works and is quite accurate. I would say surprisingly accurate given the price and features. I tested it with a known 1 GΞ© resistor and the readings were within the expected range given the resistor's nominal tolerance and the accuracy of the meter. The voltage across the probes (measured with a fairly well calibrated meter) was the expected value, within my meter's tolerance. The AC voltage readings are again very close to what my trusty fluke is reading. In terms of accuracy, I have absolutely nothing to complain about, especially since the main purpose is to detect the presence of an insulation breakdown and the exact value is less important. very, very slowly. It takes more than 5 seconds to get a constant AC reading when even idle meters from a given location get a constant reading in less than 1 second. The same goes for the resistance area, it takes a very long time for the readings to stabilize. Another "what were you thinking?" problem is the lack of space to store the probes. The device comes with a case and carrying strap, but no probe compartment. whyyyyyyy? Overall I would give it 4 stars mainly due to the slow read and lack of memory for probes.

Pros
  • One year test
Cons
  • Reliability
