I have owned this pad for several years. I usually use it under a tablecloth, but I love its heat-resistant properties so much that I leave it on the dining table most of the time. This leaves the countertop untouched and looking like new. My only reservations are that some stickies are difficult to clean and some stains won't come out. Also, the edges where the pillow goes over the edge of the table are frayed and rat-like. Excellent heat resistant properties. I put down the boiling hot pots, fresh off the stove, and there was no trace left on my table. I decided to leave this comment because no one else seemed brave enough (or stupid enough) to test the heat resistance and I thought people would be interested in hearing about it. I will buy another one because they are just great.
