ASUS RT-AC68U, an excellent router at an amazing price

----------------------------------- ----------- - ---UPDATE - May 2018 For those who were "forced to update to the AC-1900 firmware after trying to install the latest ASUS RT-AC68U firmware on their AC-1900 (from the April or May 2018 firmware updates on the web - ASUS website), there is a workaround/fix. This is quite difficult and will take some time as an exploit is used in the web interface to downgrade the firmware. However, if you follow the instructions, you should be able to flash your chosen firmware back to the router. Search Google for more information. -------- ----------------------- What an amazing price for this ASUS router considering it's all around that cost $140 or more. First, ignore the T-Mobile icon on your router. I highly doubt that this router is actually refurbished. It looks like new, has never been used. T-Mobile likely had a surplus of these devices and sold them back to Revain. You will receive a sterilized version of the ASUS RT-AC68U router for T-Mobile. This is sterilized by T-Mobile's preloaded firmware. This product is actually a rebranded ASUS RT-AC68U, exactly the same hardware. Google the AC-1900 and you'll find instructions for flashing this router to the latest ASUS firmware. This is a multi-step process and you can ask a tech-savvy wizard to do it for you. After installing the ASUS RT-AC68U firmware, install custom firmware like Merlin firmware for RT-AC68U that will allow you to overclock your router. As soon as a new firmware is available, this router is ready to go. It has a powerful long-range Wi-Fi radio to fill an area of 2500-3000mΒ². Feet-full signal everywhere. Great router at a great price. Ignore the T-Mobile badge, it's just T-Mobile firmware that can be replaced with stock or custom firmware if you follow the instructions correctly.
