Philips makes great lightbulbs. I've been using these halogen bulbs in my 25 year old trekking light since day one and they've always held up surprisingly well. The lamps are dimmable and the light is bright white and does not change over time. If you live in California, good luck with your delivery; CA has made it nearly impossible to buy lightbulbs that are "below par" by this week's standards, but you can usually find a vendor or two or packaging options that you can ship to CA. (I couldn't order a single pack of 3 of these bulbs to ship to California, but a set of two 3-packs from the same seller *was* able to ship to California. See...I didn't really need six bulbs, but what did you do you before?) Note: The old version of this lamp did not have a glass dome, so many lamps had round glass discs installed. The current version of the lamp has a flat glass surface, so you can simply take the glass panel out of the lamp and throw it in the bin.
