Keeps the dinosaur juice in the exhaust instead of around it.
A basic part of original or better quality. I didn't actually have to replace this part but the exhaust had to be removed to replace the head gasket and due to the age of the engine it was a safe bet that the old exhaust gasket would fail. It's a cheap part, preventive maintenance is key to long equipment life, just buy it.
