Review on 🌑️ Enhance Your Atmosphere with Yahboom Intelligent Temperature Programmable Light (Quiet) by Jonathan Sanders

Works very well with a cool display. Keeps my RPi below 40Β°C.

I have a Pi 4B and when I first got it without cooling it was idling at about 50C. I find that updating the Pi firmware with rpi-upgrade helped a lot in bringing temperatures down to the high 40C. The next big cooling upgrade was the addition of an all-metal chassis with a passive heatsink, like the low-profile Geekworm- Housing. This will slightly lower the temperature to 40 degrees. The whole case feels quite warm, which is probably a good thing since the purpose of a heatsink is to provide a surface for heat dissipation. The next logical upgrade to the cooling system would be the addition of an active fan. This is why I chose the Geekworm low profile case as it is compatible with other RPi headgear. I chose the Yahboom fan shroud because it's programmable and has a cool OLED display. If you are new to Linux, you may have trouble with the instructions. I didn't have much trouble with the Python tutorials, but I had to install some additional packages on my Raspbian Lite image, e.g. B. python-pip and Adafruit-BBIO. I kept the fan control and display features but turned off the colored LEDs as they are very distracting at night. The fan does a pretty good job of moving air and cooling the case. This brought the PI temperature down to a mid 30Β°C. When idling (only with Pi-Hole and two Wireguard connections active) the temperature is stable at 34Β°C. When running cpuburn, loading the processor at 100%, the temperature stabilized at 38 Β° C. The display is also very convenient, quickly shows various information. In general I am very satisfied with the product.
