Advantages: They are soft, true to size and have no annoying seams at the top. like nylon! I have small, narrow feet so the material on my feet isn't quite stretched but I can still see every detail of my foot through the toe. I don't think they're cotton either, but they do have nylon/acrylic and maybe even some spandex. In my opinion the thickness of the material is not enough to name these socks. They don't soften my feet, don't protect them in my shoes and don't warm them at all. Even a small amount of moisture penetrates immediately, and when it rains your feet get wet. In fact, cold air flows through them and since they are not cotton, the material also gets cold and my foot stays cold longer when I want to be warm and dry. If you're looking for soft, warm, absorbent cotton socks, look elsewhere. If you want to wear very thin socks instead of tights with work trousers and ballet flats, these socks may be for you.
