My bike was locked in the bike rack of my truck, which was parked in front of the hotel for several nights. This lock prevented an attempted theft of the bike, as can be seen in the photo. The thief managed to cut one of the links cleanly, but it must have taken too long to make another cut. They also tried drilling the keyhole but ended up with a broken drill bit. Thanks to this AKM lock, I still have my bike. Post-processing: I had to have a locksmith remove the U-lock as it was badly damaged. Took it off in about 10 minutes - sparks flew everywhere and it got so hot I had to chill it with a cup of water several times. My mistake was backing the truck into a wooded area with the bike strapped to the bike rack at the back of the hotel parking lot and trying my best to hide it. Trouble is, I covered for the thief and no doubt his cutting tool sparked as well. The locksmith said it was actually better to keep it outdoors - sparks like that would draw a lot of attention.
